Scholarships and Bursaries -

The following scholarships and bursary awards are being offered for the 2008-09 term.

Scholarship packages will be available in March 2009.

One (1) annually
This scholarship is to encourage students to develop leadership in Ukrainian community work. The student must demonstrate average academic achievement, leadership potential, and involvement in cultural activities.
CHRISTA POTTS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
$200.00
One (1) annually
This is awarded to a female University of Saskatchewan student who serves on the executive of the Mohylianky Society or who makes major contributions to the activities sponsored by the Society.
DANIEL KRAWCHUK SCHOLARSHIP
$800.00
Up to two (2) annually
Applicant should be pursuing the study of the Ukrainian language. The student must be enrolled in the College of Arts and Science and Majoring in Ukrainian Studies, Political Science or Economics, or enrolled in the College of Education at the University of Sask.
DOREEN MACHULA PHARMACY SCHOLARSHIP
$600.00
One (1) annually
This scholarship is awarded to a University of Saskatchewan Pharmacy student of Ukrainian descent.
JOHN FEDAN SCHOLARSHIP
$800.00
Up to two (2) annually
Candidates for this scholarship should have an academic standing of at least 75% and be in at least their second year of attendance at university. Other factors that are considered are leadership, participation in Mohyla activities and financial need. This award is open to residents of Mohyla Institute
JOHN RUDEWSKY AWARD
$400.00
One (1) annually
This award is to recognize participation in the cultural-educational activities of the Institute. This award is open to residents of Mohyla Institute
KRAYNICK LEADERSHIP AWARD

This award is presented to students who demonstrate leadership and involvement in the Institute. This award is open to residents of Mohyla institute
LUDWIG, OLGA & CONSTANCE KAYE UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is offered to a resident student registered in a Masters program or a second degree program at the University of Saskatchewan. This award is open to residents of Mohyla Institute
MARIE KOTELKO SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is offered to assist academically successful students and leaders in student affairs to continue their education. This award is open to residents of Mohyla Institute
MOHYLA ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX STUDENTS

Open
This entrance scholarship is available to students residing at Mohyla Institute and enrolled in a first-year, post-secondary educational institution in the province of Saskatchewan.

This scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a career in Nursing or similar health care studies.
NICHOLAS & OLGA HAWRYSH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

To be awarded to a post-secondary student of Ukrainian descent. The student must demonstrate average or above average academic achievement, and be actively involved in Ukrainian cultural activities. This award is open to residents of Mohyla Institute
PARASKA BEAHUN SCHOLARSHIP

This is awarded to a student who achieves above average academic standing at the University of Saskatchewan. This award is open to residents of Mohyla institute
PETER SHELEPIUK AWARD

This award is to recognize participation in the cultural-educational activities of the Institute. This award is open to residents of mohyla Institute
PITTS SCHOLARSHIP
$300.00
One (1) annually
This scholarship is awarded to a University of Saskatchewan student at Mohyla Institute. Academic achievement and financial need will be considered.
P & J MAKOWSKY SCHOLARSHIP
Encyclopedia of Ukraine, Vols. I and II
One (1) annually

This award shall be presented to a student who shows exceptional scholastic achievement in:

a). Ukrainian language courses and/or

b). Ukrainian history courses

PROKOP KINDRACHUK AWARD

The Kindrachuk award is to recognize a Mohyla Institute resident who best exemplifies average academic standing, involvement in Ukrainian student activities and an appreciation of Ukrainian culture.
SEMENIW LEADERSHIP AWARD

One (1) annually
This award is presented to students who assume leadership and involvement in Ukrainian student affairs.
SOPHIE GRESCHUK AWARD
$800.00
One (1) annually
Preference will be given to those students who have reasonable facility in the Ukrainian language, are involved in Kameniari student club, have at least an average academic standing and may have financial need.
SOROKAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
$400.00
One (1) annually
This scholarship is awarded to a University of Saskatchewan student who achieves average academic standing and participates in cultural activities at the Institute. This award is open to residents of Mohyla Institute
St. PETRO MOHYLA SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD

This award may be made upon recommendation by the Scholarship Committee and approval by the Board of Directors. Formal application is not necessary.
