On November 8th and 9th, 2011, Mohyla hosted the Grade 8 class from Dr. John G. Egnatoff School here in Saskatoon. This was a very successful pilot, and we invite all of our provincial schools to consider participating in this program starting in January 2012. See Cultural Programs or visit Facebook for more detailed information.
Cultural programming is most effective when a variety of people assist in the activities involved. Please consider volunteering to assist us with any of the above activities, or call us with ideas on how we can integrate your Ukrainian-Canadian expertise into this program!
The 2010/11 AGM is scheduled for November 19th at 10:30 am had insufficient members present. Therefore we have rescheduled it for 10:30 am Saturday, Jan 21st, 2012. We invite the community to attend the meeting and join us for brunch afterwards. The bylaws do not require a minimum attendance for this second attempt, so all AGM business will be completed at that time.
The plaque unveiling ceremony was held at St. Petro Mohyla Institute on September 24th, 2011, recognizing the Institute as a significant part of national history. This recognition is not about any particular building, but rather, recognizes the lasting impact of the people within the organization. Many Ukrainian-Canadian organizations saw their genesis through the community spirit that defines St. Petro Mohyla Institute. Student society activities integral to the historic significance of the Institute are still encouraged and facilitated at the Institute today.
